Ownership and cancellation

Your website is never held hostage.

Plain answers about what you own, what we keep, and what happens if you leave.

This is a plain-language summary. The Service Agreement you sign sets out the full terms, in its Ownership, Cancellation and Export Schedule.

What stays yours

  • Your domain name.
  • Your business content: your text, photos, logo and other material you give us.
  • Once the setup fee is paid, the parts of your website made specifically for you, with a permanent licence to the reusable code inside it.

What we keep

CVO Atlas keeps its own reusable systems, internal tools and infrastructure. These are what let us build and run many sites well, so they aren't part of any one client's site.

Branding artwork

Bought a Brand Refresh or Complete Corporate Identity? Once the package fee is paid in full, copyright in the original artwork we create for you is assigned to you. Fonts and stock assets are licensed under their own terms, which we list when we deliver.

If you cancel

  • Give us 30 days' written notice. You can ask for your export during the notice period.
  • There's no exit fee.
  • You receive a standard export of your website within 10 business days, free of charge, with a download link that works for 30 days.
  • Hosting, the AI chatbot, maintenance, support and monitoring end when the managed service ends.
  • We can help move your site to another host as an optional paid extra. You never have to buy that help to receive your standard export.

How the export works

Every site we build is designed from the start so it can leave with you. The standard export is a folder (also provided as a zip file) containing your finished pages, images, fonts and text.

  • It runs on any ordinary web host that serves files, with no special software.
  • Your enquiry form becomes your email address and phone number, because the form-handling service is part of our monthly plan.
  • The AI chatbot is removed, because it runs on our managed service.
  • It includes a short guide to putting it online and connecting your domain.
  • It never contains passwords, keys, other clients' information or our internal systems.
